Random planets

For a while now I wondered whether I should go with procedural planets or designed ones. Right now I think I will go with the procedural ones. They aren´t better - far from it - but they will force me to hone the general mechanic of the game rather than design levels that would acomodate the failures of my design and programming.

In the long run, I am also thinking this will make my work easier. Half of my last game production time was spent in level making.

Anyway, in this last update, you can see there are forest and mountain "matrixes" that generate trees and mountains randomly. I hope to have some 10-20 structural objects like that by the end of production. Things like water (sea or lakes), cities and houses, deserts, craters, crashed ships, shops, stuff like that.

Also, I changed the walking code so that it will respond to rocks and mountains by changing the direction of player and npc acceleration: which means you and the red aliens can now climb rocks and mountains. Also I added a health value which stand for the "tiredness" (and later on, damage) to which the player is subjected and there is also a life support value, showing the ships capacity to heal the player´s body.

STAY TUNED!
